Our social mission to enhance participant’s self-sufficiency

In our efforts to provide job search/job training services, we have developed an intensive workforce development model. Whether it’s residents in low-income communities or employees who are going through downsizing efforts, our model takes a holistic approach to addressing a comprehensive array of barriers to entering the workplace. The model combines a highly personalized approach to the individual and a team approach with other human services agencies in the community who will be active participants in the development of a customized, comprehensive service plan.

Services are comprised of providing job search training workshops using computer-based learning activities as well as familiarizing participants with job search engines, local company websites and related job seeker information.  In addition, resume assistance and individual marketing plans are developed.  Our typical job search training workshops are guaranteed to be jam-packed with helpful information in preparing participants to obtain any type of career opportunity.

Learning Objectives include:

• Experience a mini-self career assessment to help you chart your job campaign course
• Learn the statistics of the current job market
• Understand how to research and analyze job vacancies via websites, job search engines and related job source information
• Define how your skills match up with the job vacancies
• Learn tools to write your resume
• Learn why cover letters are important keys to your application process
• Learn interviewing techniques
• Learn the value of tracking and follow-up
