General Assembler

Our client, a leading manufacturer in the rural Pittsburgh area (Clinton) is seeking General Assemblers.  We offer a great company culture and superior benefits.  Looking for candidates who have assembly experience but will consider other candidates who are looking for more than just a job and an opportunity for a career. The successful candidate will perform final assembly of tensioners using components specified on drawing.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Able to perform basic blueprint reading

  • Use basic measurement equipment such as calipers and thread pitch gages

  • Assemble parts to blueprint requirements

  • Able to use basic hand tools to achieve required results

  • Inform appropriate personnel of non-functioning parts during final assembly

Experience:   1 - 10 years

Education:   High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred

Specialized Skills, Training or Abilities:

  • Equipment Selection -- Determine best method of assembling components

  • Reading Comprehension -- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents

  • Equipment Maintenance – Ensure equipment used in daily work is properly maintained and keep work area clean.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a production plant environment with limited exposure to elements such as dust, noise, fumes or temperature changes, and with limited exposure to mechanical, electrical, fire, chemical, or other hazards. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds and use of cranes for parts weighing over 50 pounds.
