Job Title: Management Trainee USA

Locations: Wall, NJ and Appleton, WI

We are currently recruiting two Management Trainees. This is an exciting opportunity to travel internationally to learn about Ekman’s Global businesses and operations!  We are recruiting recent grads interested in learning a business from the ground up. The Ekman International Trainee Program (“EITP”) offers a unique start to your career. For 12 months you will be involved in a series of rotations in all business operations across Ekman’s international organization. Once completed, the successful candidate will be located at US operations: 1) Wall, NJ (Recycling Division) and 2) Appleton, WI (Pulp Division).

 

Ekman Group is a 220-year-old global business trading company focusing on the forest product industry with sales more than $2B located in 40 offices worldwide. The company’s main products traded include recycled materials (paper & plastics), wood pulp, and paper.  The company has experienced tremendous growth over the past 10 years.  Sourcing is a key component of the business and is an integral part of the growth strategy for both the recycling and pulp divisions.   

 

Job Description

 

To be successful in this position, potential candidates must be able to:

  • Cultivates and maintains strong business relationships through proper communication channels via phone calls, emails, plant/mill/office visits, off-site meetings such as industry-related events.

  • Develops the growth of business activities and accounts.

  • Works effectively with sales support group to ensure a high degree of service is delivered to accounts.

  • Maintains accurate records of buying and sourcing with prospecting activities including follow-up activities.


Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in business or a related field from a four-year college or university.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications that include Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Must have strong networking skills. Effective listening and verbal skills to identify important information and to engage with internal and external customers.

  • Must be willing to travel 80% of the time within assigned region while in Trainee program.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and passport.
