Senior HR Consultant (Part-time)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Downtown)

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Fast paced, growing consulting company focused on human resources (HR) and organizational effectiveness seeks a motivated and organized Senior HR Consultant. Partner with our client to optimize processes, structure and culture to support the overall organization. The successful candidate will anticipate, identify and respond to the client’s HR needs.

 

The candidate must have the initiative and entrepreneurial spirit to help grow the business. The successful individual provides support to the business in the following areas:

  • Provide on and offsite senior human resource expertise in managing a variety of human resource projects including overseeing client deliverables and associated work plans. Must be knowledgeable of all federal and state laws and ensure compliance for our clients.

  • Responsible for managing client relations in providing on and offsite HR services. Serve as functional and strategic expert and internal consultant for our clients in all areas of HR and Organizational Effectiveness with expertise in all areas of HR services. Develop and customize HR audits, conduct organizational assessments, develop employee manuals, prepare executive reports, and execute work plans. Responsible for developing performance management programs, compensation modeling, employee relations, diversity & inclusion, M&A, recruiting and selection, change management, and career transition services.

  • Partner with clients to identify gaps between current and future organizational designs. Collaborate with clients on the development of strategic plans, mission, vision, core values, and process improvements.  Present project plans, results, recommendations, and deliverables to client executives, leaders, and other employees.

  • Manage projects by developing project plans that meet client expectations. Review task grid in accordance with project hours/schedules to meet all due dates. Document project status and reports as required by the contract.

  • Responsible for contacting potential clients and developing relationships to obtain contracts. Perform follow-ups with potential prospects from business development events. Review and enhance draft responses to proposals. Present to senior executives, leaders, and other employees during meetings. Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BA/BS degree is required with a minimum of 10+ years of professional experience managing and leading a senior human resources function for an organization SPHR/SHRM-SCP strongly preferred. Preferred experience and knowledge of human resources processes in the education industry preferably K-12 and charter schools.

Must possess the following: 1) Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills; 2) Exemplary communication skills that require listening to the client’s needs and written and verbal presentation skills; 3) Strong planning and organizational skills that require the ability to manage project details and provide on-going updates; 4) Flexible in managing multiple project(s) at one time.

Specific experience in the following areas is preferred: Ability to handle internal and external communications with existing and potential clients. Proactive in managing human resource projects. Track project scope(s), define project plan(s) and provide updates. Manage the details, logistics, and scheduling of project activities. Mentor and take the lead with other human resources consultants based on project needs. The successful candidate must have a proven track record in managing projects and strong organizational skills.

Must be willing to perform onsite at our client’s location. Demonstrate the willingness/motivation to go the extra mile to grow the business. Strong technical skills in the use of MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills are required.
