Position Summary
Our client, the Jewish Healthcare Foundation (JHF) is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Education and Evaluation to lead the JHF educational and workforce development initiatives, including the prestigious Feinstein Fellowships. This position represents a strategic investment in expanding JHF's educational impact and strengthening its role as a national leader in healthcare workforce development, leadership training, and health systems improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Education Delivery & Fellowship Management
Serve as the primary organizational lead for all Feinstein Fellowships. Direct the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Salk Health Activist Fellowship, Patient Safety Fellowship, and Death and Dying Fellowship.
Develop annual program goals, learning objectives, and participant outcomes. Design and update fellowship curricula using evidence-based educational and adult learning principles. Manage recruitment, selection, onboarding, and ongoing mentorship with faculty, speakers, and subject matter experts.
Collaborate with JHF program staff to ensure alignment with curriculum and JHF’s initiatives. Monitor emerging healthcare, public health and incorporate them into fellowship content. Embed health policy, systemic advocacy, and activist philanthropy principles into all curriculum tracks. Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to assess educational effectiveness, participant learning, leadership development and long-term program impact.
Internship Program Development & Management
Design, implement, and evaluate a JHF-wide internship program, with an anticipated launch in 2027. Develop the internship curriculum, define clear learning objectives aligned with JHF’s mission. Partner with Foundation staff and external organizations to identify meaningful internship experiences and projects. Establish systems to assess intern learning outcomes and program effectiveness. Build and maintain the internship program as a pipeline for future healthcare leaders, participants in JHF educational programs, and potential JHF staff.
Alumni Engagement & Resource Development
Create and implement a comprehensive engagement strategy specifically for fellowship graduates. Develop opportunities for alumni networking, cross-cohort mentorship, and ongoing continuing education. Support grant development and fundraising efforts to educational and workforce development. Identify funding opportunities. Contribute to grant proposals and related documents. Cultivate strategic partnerships with universities, healthcare organizations, community organizations, and professional associations to advance JHF mission.
Required Education, Qualifications and Skills
Master’s degree in public health (MPH), Education, Healthcare Administration, Public Policy, or a related field required. PhD preferred. Five to eight years of experience managing program leadership, workforce development, educational programming, curriculum design, evaluation or related areas. Demonstrated experience in instructional design, including developing educational programs. Proven track record building new academic, internship, or fellowship programs from inception to launch.
Experience in healthcare and public policy. Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external partners. Experience using HubSpot CMS software or comparable CMS. Proficient computer skills using MS Office.
