Director of Operations 

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Carnegie)
Employer: Nonprofit Client of The Bradley Partnerships (onsite position)
Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually


The Bradley Partnerships is conducting a confidential search for a Director of Operations for our nonprofit client. As a growing
Pennsylvania-based nonprofit organization specializing in person centered home and community-based support for individuals
with intellectual and developmental disabilities, this is a critical role to its mission. We are looking to hire an experienced
Director, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) with oversight for all operational activities across departments,
ensuring that agency policies, procedures, and regulatory standards are consistently followed in all areas. The position will be
located onsite at its corporate office.

 

Responsibilities

  • The Director of Operations provides leadership and operational guidance to program and administrative staff, ensuring that systems, processes, and programs function efficiently with a focus on strengthening operational oversight, regulatory compliance, and organizational effectiveness.

  • Directs all operations while implementing, achieving, and maintaining the company goals and objectives. The successful candidate will make it a priority to balance employee satisfaction, risk mitigation, and the strategic directives of the CEO/COO.  

  • Reports to the CEO and COO on execution of the organization's mission, core values, and strategic objectives including operations leadership, regulatory compliance, monitors and oversees staff leadership and development.

  • Ensures that all organizational and operational activities comply with Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) regulations, including 55 PA. Code Chapter 6100, as well as applicable federal and state licensing requirements.

  • Implements processes to ensure that the organization’s core values are consistently integrated into leadership practices, program operations, regulatory compliance efforts, and organizational culture.

  • Oversees the operational coordination of agency programs /services to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency and provides leadership and operational support to program directors, supervisors, and management staff.

  • Collaborates with department heads to conduct internal compliance reviews, operational audits, and regulatory monitoring activities to ensure ongoing adherence to ODP requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, social work, public administration, human services, or a closely related field preferred with a minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership or administrative experience, preferably within human services or nonprofit organizations. Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) is strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing operational systems, regulatory compliance, and staff leadership, and must be knowledgeable and ensure compliance of federal, state and city ordinances, laws, and regulations.

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, multi-task, demonstrate flexibility, and manage well under pressure.

  • Proven project and time management, communications, critical thinking, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) are required.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and operational demands with sound judgment.

  • Demonstrates high emotional intelligence and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
